Executive Summary

This website documents the complete sequence of events surrounding the domain name WOW.org.

I have been the lawful owner of WOW.org for many years and had long intended to develop it into a meaningful long-term project when the appropriate opportunity arose.

In 2023, due to an urgent need for short-term funding, I listed WOW.org for sale through GoDaddy and the domain marketplace Sedo.

In November 2025, a prospective buyer began negotiating for WOW.org through GoDaddy / Afternic with the assistance of an Afternic broker. After receiving the initial offer, I concluded that it was no longer necessary to market the domain through GoDaddy’s sales landing page. I therefore removed the GoDaddy sales-page forwarding configuration and redirected WOW.org to a sales page hosted on my own server.

Based on my understanding, the domain had been withdrawn from sale through GoDaddy. I later discovered that this action did not remove the listing from the Afternic marketplace.

On March 31, 2026, the same prospective buyer purchased WOW.org through Afternic for US$280,000.

Because this was not a sale I intended to complete, and because I subsequently received two Afternic emails dated April 3 and April 5, 2026, both stating that I was required to provide the Authorization (EPP) Code within 48 hours or the transaction would be cancelled, I did not provide the authorization code or complete the requested transfer procedures.

Beginning on April 6, 2026, the same prospective buyer resumed negotiations through Sedo. Multiple rounds of public negotiations followed, during which the buyer continued increasing the offer. Ultimately, through a Sedo Broker, the buyer presented a formal net offer of EUR 325,000, with all brokerage commissions waived, and further indicated a willingness to increase the offer if necessary.

It was during these negotiations that I began fundamentally re-evaluating the future of WOW.org. I invested substantial time and effort into defining its product vision, technical architecture, and long-term application strategy. As the project rapidly evolved, I became increasingly convinced that the long-term value of WOW.org far exceeded any acquisition offer then available.

Accordingly, I made the decision to withdraw WOW.org from sale permanently, retain it as the foundation of a long-term independent project, and devote my full attention to its planning and development.

On May 21, 2026, I received an email from GoDaddy requesting my cooperation in completing the transaction and transferring the domain.

Immediately upon receiving that notice, I responded in writing and clearly stated that:

  • I did not consent to selling WOW.org;
  • I did not authorize any transfer of the domain; and
  • I requested that the transaction and transfer process be stopped immediately.

On the same day, I also submitted formal written notices and complaints to GoDaddy’s Office of the CEO and the relevant departments, reiterating my position.

Despite my repeated written objections and explicit requests to stop the transaction, WOW.org was ultimately transferred out of my account on May 27, 2026.

Following the transfer, I initiated formal complaints with GoDaddy, ICANN, the Daly City Police Department, and the California Attorney General’s Office. Throughout the process, I preserved all relevant correspondence, documents, and supporting evidence relating to the incident.

It was under these circumstances that WOWBoxing.com was created.
